20160716 Ireland and Family roots

It’s always enlightening to discover more about your roots, meet relatives, see places and think, “So that’s where I got that from!”  We had a few days set aside for this and with good flight connections, it was quite easy. Ryan Air B’ham to Belfast, Hire car for the driving and a Flybe back.  Met up with a few of my Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and some of their children.  Took my Mum to where she grew up, the family home, visited the church and where her School used to be.  A quick look at Lusty Beg and it seems a popular place for Wedding receptions, there was one in progress while we were there. Superb B&B beside the lake and beautiful views over the water while eating breakfast.  Nipped over to the West coast near Donegal at Sandhouse Hotel where you can drive onto the beach.  As time was at a premium, not a long stop and back via Pettigo and Kesh to Enniskillen. We found a great cafe for lunch in Enniskillen with amazing healthy food and cakes to supplement!  The last night was in Belfast and so of course, sampled the local places and experienced the ambience.  Squeezed in a visit to the Castle before flying out from the City Airport.
