About

Hi, my name’s Mark, welcome to my website. The site is designed to provide an insight into how I enjoy a life that came about as a result of having a plan to work less and have more fun! For those of you who like that idea, then after browsing, if you are serious, please get in touch and I would be happy to have a chat as I now spend some of my time helping others to achieve the same.
Summary About Me
This is easy – Professional cake eater that likes riding a bike and helping others to change their lives!
Growing Up
I grew up in Solihull, in the UK, where I attended school and sixth form before venturing to Canterbury to get my degree. My parents both competed in cycling races and so I spent a lot of my time outside of school, around cycling families and the racing scene. I enjoyed lots of cycling touring holidays before getting involved in competing myself.
Hobbies
In case you don’t guess from the rest of the site, my favourite hobby is road cycling.
I also enjoy reading lots, especially as I’m always wanting to learn and be the best I can be. I like to be more than just cycling fit, so also walk, swim and do the occasional exercise routine. In recent years I started skiing, so now enjoy that during the winter months, when it’s not so much fun out cycling! Lifelong study of the human body, mind and nutrition, so always eager to attend events or read about these.
Working Experiences
Left Uni, rode bike races in Europe and after the season ended, no more prize money, so this led to a need for employment. I worked in a computer/electronics environment designing ‘stuff’ and writing OS and App software. Moved on to another company just working with software and then soon left there to go Freelance for a number of years. I worked with some amazing people in superb companies and learnt lots. One day decided that it would be cool to spend more time on life and less on work, so set about finding a way to do this. So during my spare time, a number of failed attempts (learning what didn’t do this) led to finding an environment and framework that did. A more stable working life with a role in Project Management allowed me to then build up a second income stream in my spare time and to consequently provide more choices in life a few years later. Now I enjoy more time freedom, time with family and friends, time on my hobbies and help others I meet on life’s journey, who also want to change their lives.
Other Stuff
I really enjoy meeting new people and out cycling with lots of different groups of cyclists, I meet a lot! Everyone has a story to tell, experiences that you can learn from, give you ideas of new places to visit, things to try, different perspectives on things. It’s fascinating what you can discover! A lot of the things I hear or learn, I can then share with others when I am in a coaching or mentoring role.
