20160802 White Night – Moores and Christians

One of the great traditions in Mallorca is to re-enact the battle between the Moores and Christians.  This takes place in Pollenca on the 2nd of August and 2 nights before is White Night, where everyone dresses in white. The streets are also suitably decorated and it’s really pretty.  On the night of the battle it does get rather loud and a little bit of mock anger turns slightly real at times.  However, the majority of those involved, calm those getting out of hand and its an interesting evening!  Well worth attending at least once.  The partying starts later on both of these evenings and goes on until 4 or 5am. Beware the cannon booms if you are by the Hotel Son Sant Jordi!
